Please understand that CPS is not a law firm and cannot provide legal advice. Additionally, we do not provide paralegal services directly to the public. We are proud to have earned the FRP designation from The Florida Bar, and as such, we are subject to the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. The Florida Bar defines a paralegal as "a person with education, training, or work experience, who works under the supervision of a member of The Florida Bar and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a member of The Florida Bar is responsible.". Since we do not employ attorneys in-house, our focus is on providing services for licensed Florida Attorneys and Florida law firms. Offering services to the general public would violate the Rules and compromise the safety of the public at large. Providing you paralegal services without an attorney to supervise the work would present a situation where it could be construed that the paralegal you are working with would be practicing law without a license, which is a third-degree felony under Section 454.23 of the Florida Statutes. In order to safeguard your rights, as well as our own, we cannot accept cases from the general public.
Referrals are made to your local Clerk of Court's self-help center, the Florida Bar Lawyer Referral Program, and to our sister company, Court Docs, which is a virtual document preparation service. Court Docs is also not a law firm and does not give legal advice, but the experienced document preparation specialist can help you identify what document you need and provide you with resources and general information about our local courts and general procedures.
